Action Now Moves Back Online With €100,000 Guarnteed Glory Series Starting 28th February
After four days of intensive action at Playground Poker Club, Montreal, 28-year-old Jiachen (Jack) Gong made the sure the inaugural C$1,100 Tonybet Winter Festival Main Event title stayed in Montreal by scooping first place and the CAD$100,000 first prize.
Jack, a local businessman and Playground Poker Club regular, took down the biggest title of his career in the tournament that had 520 total entries with a total prize pool of CAD $504,400. There were over 100 entries from Tonybet online qualifiers alone.
Holding his Tonybet Poker Winter Festival Main Event championship belt above his head, Jack said: “I’m going to wear this every Friday from now on and use some of the winnings to invest in real estate. I’m so happy I won. It is funny I won this, I met Tony G once, he seemed like such a nice guy and not like the person I saw giving verbals on television. Now I have won this I think I have to really try the Tonybet OFC product.”
“The key turning point in the tournament for me was on day three when I was below average with 13/14 left. I flopped a set of 7s and got paid off after he shoved four times the pot. This put me in a great positon.”
Runner-up was perhaps one of the best known players in the tournament in the form of Will Molson, a Montreal native who had over $2 million in live earnings compared to the CAD$200,00 of winner Jack Gong.
The TonyBet Winter Festival ran from Friday January 29 – Wednesday February 10th. The festival started with a multi-flight $160 NLH re-entry, charity event featuring hockey legend Larry Robinson in the $100,000 CAD guaranteed - All-Stars for Starlight.
